Financial highlights


  1. The Company had started with a capital of Rs. 20.03 lakh in 1989-90, and at present, the Company has the reserve and surplus of Rs. 4975.58 lakh in the year 2017-18.
  2. The tentative turnover, expenditure and net profit of the Company for the financial year 2017-18 are Rs. 3943.01 lakhs, Rs. 3826.02 lakhs and Rs. 94.92 lakh respectively.
  3. The Company has paid Rs. 78.13 lakh as dividend to its shareholders (Government of Haryana) upto the year 2016-17..

 


Note:  Financial figures for the financial year 2008-09 to 2016-17 are based on audited balance sheets and for the financial year 2017-18 are based on un-audited/provisional balance sheet and on reports submitted by the respective General Managers of Haryana Forest Development Corporation Limited. Turnover includes sales, other income of stocks (increase/decrease). Expenditure includes purchase, administrative & other expenses and depreciation etc.

 

 

Share Capital and Shareholders


The authorized share capital of the Company is Rs. 5,00,00,000/- (Rupees Five Crore only) divided into 50,000 equity shares of Rs. 1,000/- each. The paid up share capital of the Company is Rs. 20,03,000/- (Rupees Twenty Lakhs Three Thousand only). There are 2003 shares of Rs. 1000/- each allotted by the Company. Two thousand shares have been allotted in the name of Governor of Haryana through the Principal Secretary, Forest Department and one share each held by three shareholders of the State Government. They are:


            i)          Financial Commissioner and Principal Secretary, Finance Department
            ii)         Financial Commissioner and Principal Secretary, Forest Department
            iii)        Principal Chief Conservator of Forests

 

 

Financial position and working results


The profit of the Company has increased/decreased due to supply of furniture to various schools, wooden crates to various Government procurement agencies such as Food & Supplies Department, Haryana Warehousing Corporation, CONFED and Haryana Agro Industries Corporation and other activities like arboriculture, landscaping and plantations projects being executed for Ministry of Defence, Northern Railway, NHAI, NBCC and Delhi Forest Department. Turnover

VAT, GST AND INCOME TAX


The Company has been paying value added tax (VAT), GST and income tax on the sales, purchase and profit. The contributions of VAT, GST and income tax since 2008-09 to 2017-18 are given below in the table. The VAT, GST and income tax as Rs. 2291.35 lakh, 206.33 lakh and Rs. 2358.41 lakh and respectively was paid by the Company during the year 2017-18.

Royalty paid to the Forest Department


The Government of Haryana and Forest Department has earmarked some of the Forest Department areas to the Company for the purpose of felling of trees as per approved working plans. The Company pays price of such trees to the Forest Department as royalty. The Company also pays purchase price of trees of different species to the farmers, institutions and individuals as determined by the Standing Committee comprised by the Board of Directors. In case of dead and dry trees, the Company pays 65% of the actual purchase price of trees as determined by the Forest Department. The royalty paid to the Forest Department since 2008-09 to 2017-18 is given below in the table. The Company has booked Rs. 430 lakh to the Forest Department as royalty during the year 2017-18.

Dividend


The Board of Directors of the Company approved the payment of dividend @ 30% on paid-up capital of Rs. 20,03,000/-  i.e. Rs. 6,00,900/- paid to the Government of Haryana for the financial year 2016-17 and accordingly the dividend has been paid to the Principal Secretary, Government of Haryana, Finance Department. The dividend paid to the shareholders (Government of Haryana) since 2008-09 to 2016-17 is given below in the table. The Company has so far paid Rs. 78.13 lakhs dividend to the shareholders (Government of Haryana) till 2016-17. However, the dividend for the financial year 2017-18 is yet to be declared by the Board of Directors of the Company.

Reserve and Surplus


As per the provisional data received from field units for the year 2017-18, the reserve and surplus as on 31.03.2018 was Rs. 3228.38 lakhs. The said reserve and surplus in the form of cash in hand, cash in bank and  fixed deposit receipts are given below in the table. Besides, there was some closing stock in depots and also advances were given to the agencies/firms for purchase of raw material etc. are shown in the below table.
